Sam Holt Band Releases "Southern Angels"

Produced by Havin' A Ball Productions

The debut album from Sam Holt Band, Southern Angels, contains Holt’s most honest and accomplished songs to date. Sam was the driving force behind the national toursouthern angelsing act Outformation. Southern Angels features guest appearances from Widespread Panic’s John Bell and Danny Hutchens of Bloodkin. The emotional honesty in the lyrics came from experiencing the bittersweet nature of life. “Many events and emotions in the song ‘Southern Angels’ are from my time with Widespread Panic. Having John Bell on this tune is great, and also makes perfect sense,” he states. There are themes of finding positivity in the wake of tragedy running through the record. ‘Fix It Up Man’ co-written with Danny Hutchens addresses this subject. “Danny’s lyrics paint a positive picture of someone who left us too soon. The track is a tribute to someone we both love and miss very much,” reveals Holt. ‘Jesco’ is a rocker about the West Virginia Dancin Outlaw Jesco White. “That song is one of my favorites. Jesco seems like a dark guy with redeeming qualities,” Sam says. Sam Holt Band sits between Country and Rock & Roll, and is appreciated by lovers of both genres.
